About Us

Queen Centers For Hope, founded in 2013, is a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth through mental health support, public health advocacy, and community engagement. Rooted in compassion and equity, we provide safe spaces, access to care, and life-enriching programs that foster resilience, healing, and hope for brighter futures.

By integrating mental wellness with broader public health strategies, we aim to address the systemic barriers that impact youth well-being, particularly in underserved and marginalized communities. Through trauma-informed care, education, and strategic partnerships, we are building a future where every young person has the tools and support to thrive, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

Our Mission

Our mission is rooted in one belief: that vulnerable youth deserve access to care, connection, and hope. We’re here to uplift, protect, and walk beside them—every step of the way.

Vision Statement

“A world where every vulnerable youth is seen, supported, and empowered to thrive—surrounded by care, guided by connection, and sustained by hope.”

We envision a future where all youth, especially those most vulnerable, are protected, empowered, and prioritized in public health systems. At Queen Centers for Hope, our vision is to advance a world where adolescent voices shape health policies, communities are equipped to support youth well-being, and every young person has equitable access to mental health care, education, and holistic healing. Through strategic advocacy and youth-centered action, we strive to create a public health landscape founded on justice, dignity, and hope.

The Founder

Founder & Executive Director,

Queen Centers for Hope.

Dr. Praxidia Taruwinga is a public health leader, mental health advocate, and educator with over a decade of experience in community-based health initiatives, youth development, and system-level change. Her work focuses on creating inclusive, trauma-informed spaces where underserved youth, particularly in rural and marginalized communities, can thrive. By founding Queen Centers for Hope, Dr. Taruwinga has turned a bold vision into a growing movement: one that integrates mental wellness and public health to ensure that every young person has the support they need to heal, grow, and lead.

Founder’s Message

When I founded Queen Centers for Hope in 2013, it was born from a simple but powerful truth: every young person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. Over the years, I’ve witnessed how systems often fail our most vulnerable youth—especially those navigating trauma, poverty, or isolation. That failure is not just a gap in services; it’s a loss of potential, voice, and hope.

Queen Centers for Hope was created to change that narrative. We stand at the intersection of mental health and public health, advocating for a world where adolescent voices are valued, communities are equipped to respond with compassion, and every young person—no matter their background—has access to care, healing, and opportunity.

Our work is deeply personal. It’s grounded in my lived experiences, academic training, and a relentless belief in the power of community. We are not just building programs, we are building a movement for justice, dignity, and youth-led change

To every young person reading this: you matter. Your story matters. And at Queen Centers for Hope, we’re walking beside you—every step of the way.

With hope and determination,

Dr. Praxidia Taruwinga
